| Other Requirements: | Must have current DHPP, Rabies and Bordetella vaccinations (please bring proof of vaccinations to class). Must be able to consistently respond to basic commands with a low to moderate level of distraction (ie: have successfully completed Basic Obedience at The Barking Lounge or other comparable training facility). |
DESCRIPTION:
Intermediate Obedience class focuses on fine-tuning owners’ handling skills and teaching dogs how to respond to more advanced commands and also basic commands with a higher level of distraction. This class is intended to prepare owners and dogs for more challenging ‘real world’ settings. Intermediate class is structured with drills and games with an opportunity to also teach your dog some crowd pleasing tricks.

Dogs who qualify for the intermediate class are currently able to consistently respond to basic commands with a low-to-moderate level of distraction (ie: have successfully completed Basic Obedience at The Barking Lounge or other comparable training facility).
ABOUT THE TRAINER:
Julie Forbes graduated from the University of Vermont in 1999 with a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science. She has worked as a veterinary technician at Heritage Hill Vet Clinic in Medfield, Massachusetts and has also worked at All the Best Pet Care here in Seattle, where she became interested in animal nutrition and the value of natural foods. Julie worked as a trainer with the Academy of Canine Behavior in Bothell, WA for three years teaching classes, training dogs and assessing behavioral problems. As a Training & Behavior Specialist, Julie has her own business, Sensitive Dog, where she visits people and their animals in their home for behavioral evaluations and obedience training. Additionally, Julie teaches classes and runs a Board & Train Program at The Barking Lounge. Julie even has her own dog talk radio show here in Seattle!
